				Finnish Navy to lead Nato drills on unmanned systems near Hanko

The Finnish Navy will host a Nato-led military exercise in June focusing on unmanned maritime systems, as pressure grows within the alliance to boost collective defence capacity.

The exercise will be held in sea areas west of the Porkkala peninsula, stretching toward the waters off Hanko. The Finnish Navy will oversee activity in the designated zones, which lie in one of the most strategically sensitive parts of the Baltic Sea.

According to Commodore Marko Laaksonen, Chief of Operations for the Finnish Navy, the training will explore the operational potential of autonomous and remotely operated systems.
