Housing prices in Finland down 1.9% in August, with biggest falls in Tampere and Turku

The prices of old dwellings in housing companies in Finland dropped by 1.9 percent in August 2025 compared with a year earlier, Statistics Finland reported. Prices also slipped by 0.3 percent from July.
Among the country’s largest cities, Vantaa and Helsinki recorded slight increases, with prices up 0.5 percent and 0.4 percent respectively. The steepest year-on-year declines were in Tampere, down 3.9 percent, and Turku, down 3.8 percent.
Across the six biggest cities, prices decreased by 1.3 percent, while outside major urban areas the fall was sharper at 2.9 percent.
On the capital region as a whole, prices were 0.4 percent lower than in August 2024 but rose by 1.1 percent from the previous month.
By housing type, apartment prices fell 1.6 percent nationwide compared with a year earlier, while row houses declined by 2.4 percent.
Market activity also slowed. Estate agents reported 3 percent fewer transactions of old apartments and row houses in August than a year earlier.
