Miki Kuusi, founder of food delivery company Wolt, recorded Finland’s highest taxable income in 2024 with €80.6 million.

Of this sum, €73.6 million came from earned income. The figure reflects a stock incentive programme linked to the 2021 acquisition of Wolt by US-based Doordash. The four-year programme is valued at €500 million and is being paid out in stages.

Kuusi was also the top earner in 2023. His total tax bill in 2024 was €39.7 million, giving him a 49.3 percent effective tax rate.

In second place was Heikki Herlin, with €39.3 million, including €39.2 million in capital income. He holds major stakes in Cargotec and Alma Media and chairs investment firm Mariatorp.

Matti Häll, founder of Admicom, came third with €30.8 million. Most of the income came from selling his remaining ownership in the publicly listed software company in October 2024. Häll previously served as CEO and chairman of the board.

Leif Sonkin, former CEO of financial software firm Accountor, earned €26.8 million. His income followed the sale of Accountor’s outsourcing units to international buyers. He had €723,849 in earned income and €26.1 million in capital income.

Bluefors co-founder Rob Blaauwgeers followed closely with €26.4 million, almost entirely in capital income. The firm produces ultra-cold cooling systems for quantum computers.

Seppo Marjamäki, CEO of investment company Loco Vita, earned €25.8 million. Riikka Herlin, a member of the Herlin family, reported €23.8 million, split almost equally between earned and capital income.

Former Accountor executive Ari Kelloniemi had €19.6 million in income, mainly from capital
