Finnish President Alexander Stubb met Sweden’s Crown Princess Victoria in Helsinki on Tuesday to discuss defence and crisis preparedness.
The meeting took place at the presidential residence in Munkkiniemi. It marked the start of the Swedish royal’s two-day visit to Finland.
Victoria was joined by Sweden’s Minister for Civil Defence Carl-Oskar Bohlin and other officials.
The delegation’s visit is organised in collaboration with Finland’s National Emergency Supply Agency.
Discussions focused on strengthening regional security cooperation and exploring shared strategies for civil readiness in times of crisis.
Princess Victoria’s visit follows heightened attention to Nordic defence ties since Finland and Sweden joined NATO. The inclusion of civil defence in bilateral conversations reflects a broader approach to preparedness beyond traditional military structures.
Victoria last visited Finland in September 2023. During that trip, she inaugurated Victoria Square in a new housing development in Loviisa.
